Lower School (Kindergarten – 3rd)

At this age, our children are building the foundation of their education.  The basic skills are introduced and practiced. Our students move toward mastery through the use of an integrated, hands-on curriculum. They are encouraged to develop inquisitive, creative minds and build confidence in their ability.

Students in Kindergarten thru 2nd grade are taught in self-contained classrooms for language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. The program is richly balanced with special classes taught by different teachers for art, library, music, physical education, Spanish, and technology. Students participate in interactive Chapel services each Wednesday.  A variety of integrated activities which include field trips and performances, are built into the program to promote learning enthusiasm.

Grade 3 core subjects are taught by a team of two teachers with students rotating for math/science and reading/social studies.  Language arts is taught by the homeroom teacher.
