Middle School at SEA

Middle School students will continue to mature as they learn to balance the increased academic expectations of Middle School along with their social community opportunities.  Our program supports independence as students develop time-management proficiency, peer collaboration, and inquisitive study skills beyond the classroom.

Technology is integrated into the Middle School curriculum with a one-to-one iPad initiative, integration of technology to aid in discovery, and the use of a Maker Space classroom.  Our curriculum extends to include Art, Music, Advanced PE, and Spanish.  During Middle School students also participate in a cross curriculum study of a musical theater production.  Students will have the opportunity to see the building of the sets at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as well as experience a show. This year long process utilizes our partnership with the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and includes analysis of literature associated with the production, study of its music, and a personalized project focused on or inspired by the production.

Middle School students also participate in a Community & Comportment unit which includes sections on Etiquette, Life Skills, as well as, Speech and Debate.

Several field trip experiences complement Middle School curriculum including theater productions, art museum visits, and unique travel opportunities. The Middle School program at SEA will pave the way to create future ready leaders.
