“The only way to do great work is love what you do.” Steve Jobs
Birthdays and anniversaries are a time of reflection. My reflection on Sweetwater’s 30th celebration:
Sweetwater has a very special energy and you feel it when you walk around our campus! It is the teachers, students, staff & visitors who create this special energy. Listen when you drive up to the campus– you will hear children’s laughter from the playground; singing voices from the music room; cheers from the PE fields and pool, teacher’s talking during outside lessons & volunteers interacting with the SEA community. The sounds & the beautiful campus at SEA create an amazing place of learning. I am convinced we truly build a lifelong love of learning for our students. This special energy that surrounds our campus is positive energy, kindness, compassion, competitiveness, authenticity, team spirit, and the can-do attitude.
Students and teachers are always eager to share their stories… you know what happened in reading today; I won the math bee so I get to wear the cheese; I was awarded a solo; I got an A on my science test; Jack’s state report is fabulous; our team won the geography bee; Robert did an amazing job today presenting his report; I am so proud of Johnny he did a great job today in class; chess team placed nationally; Sarah is reading chapter books etc….
We are proud to be celebrating our 3Oth year. Together our parents, teachers, & staff have built a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. So I say, we have done great work and we need to continue to do great work. It is an honor to be part of this great school.
