It is hard to believe that 2.5 months have passed since the first day of school back in August, but it is true. Today SEA is officially on fall break; even the weather seems to agree that it is time for a change. The air is crisper, the sky is blue and for Florida, the mornings are a little cooler.
According to primary care physician Natasha Withers of New York, “Rest, relaxation and stress reduction are very important for people’s well-being and health.” Our students work very hard every day so it is good for them to have some down time and enjoy some good old fashioned fun! Encourage them to run, play and laugh over the coming long weekend.
So for this short break, take the time to unwind as a family. Turn off the alarm clock, forget about quizzes and projects - just enjoy being with each other. Use this short period to focus on the small pleasures of life and your own well being. That way we will be better students, teachers and parents, ready to buckle down for the next session.
