Florida is a great place to spend fall season. The whether is just perfect. Fall is my favorite time of the year because there are a lot of things to do. Starting from pumpkin patches, fall festivals and Halloween night.
Pumpkin patches are great places for kids to learn about local farmers and how to support them. Also some pumpkin patches offer story time, hayrides and petting zoo that kids love. You can find families, church groups and farmers working at these pumpkin patches. The people who run them are very kind and friendly to kids.
At this time of the year you can also find fall festivals that include a lot of fun activities for the kids. Sweetwater Episcopal Academy will have its fall festival on October 30th. We went last year and are definitely planning to attend again as it was a very fun time for our family. All the kids enjoyed the music, spending time with friends outside their classroom and a dressing up to party in a safe environment.
Halloween night is also part of the fall season festivities. It is also known as All Saint's Eve and it's an annual celebration on October 31st. Typical, Halloween activities include fun activities, such as;
Trick or treat
Costume parties
Pumpkin carving
Apple bobbing
haunted houses
Scary story telling
Our family really enjoys carving pumpkin, crafts and dressing up. Going trick or treating is a great tradition that helps us meet the neighbors and it is fun to see all the costumes. Creativity is definitely part of the Halloween experience. When I was little we even used to make our own costumes. Show your kids that they do not have to be scared to celebrate Halloween, as it should just be about having fun with friends and family.
Make this fall a family oriented season to spend time outside and enjoy!
