Nearly 1 billion cards are exchanged each Valentine’s Day making this day the second largest card-sending occasion of the year (behind Christmas).

Worldwide, over 50 million roses are given for Valentine's Day each year!

About 8 billion candy hearts will be produced this year; that’s enough candy to stretch from Rome, Italy to Valentine, Arizona 20 times and back again.

More than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate are sold for Valentine's Day each year.

1894: The year the Hershey Company was founded. The company has 13,000 employees worldwide and still produces chocolates out of its corporate headquarters in Hershey, PA.

The Italian city of Verona, where Shakespeare's lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters addressed to Juliet every Valentine's Day.

Alexander Graham Bell applied for his patent on the telephone, an "Improvement in Telegraphy", on Valentine's Day, 1876.

But most importantly, did you know Valentine’s Day is about love and kindness for humanity and one another. Here at SEA, Valentine’s Day happens every day. It is reflected daily in our Kind Zone, in our classrooms and in the squeals of laughter and joy we hear on the playgrounds, while our children receive love, care and a great education at SEA.
