Through different eyes …
Occasionally, I have the chance to join a class on a field trip and I always come back with new insights about our students. Last Friday, I was able to join our Kindergarten for the “Curious George” play at the Orlando Rep. Everyone is always excited to be going on an adventure off campus with friends but I am also consistently impressed with the polite behavior of our students. To tell the truth, I spend more time proudly watching the reactions of our children than I do watching the performance itself. We have students with manners; listening and participating at all the right times; relaxed enough to laugh at the comedy of the show; identifying problems and making predictions in the storyline; making the most of their day out.
It is a joy to see the success of our students as they apply their learning to the real world. They work together and they play together. Best of all, we smile together whether it is work or play. Being part of SEA is truly about ‘learning in action.’
