Kindness and Turbulent Times

After a difficult September, we are finally approaching a semblance of normal at SEA. Thankfully, Hurricane Irma is in our rearview mirror and we are slowly re-establishing our routines at school. As we all know, natural disasters and significant changes can leave one feeling anxious and off balance. According to the American Psychological Association, social support is a

key component to recovery. We at SEA, have managed to come through this turbulent time because of our strong community. A community which has offered comfort, understanding, kindness and love to each other. SEA is a safe harbor for our students, families and our teachers. We are a family, who time and time again stand united in difficult and trying times. As we welcome October, let us not forget the lessons that we learned in September, and continue to build our SEA community with compassion and kindness.

If you know of someone who is struggling to deal with the aftermath of a tragedy or a significant loss, please direct them to this link, http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/recovering-disasters.aspx

We are SEA, so let us continue to spread kindness!
